Claim vs evidence

One card per claim from the @TeslaFB13 series already on this site: the headline or claim, what the evidence showed, and links to the sources. Screenshot-friendly. Independent fan site β€” not affiliated with Tesla.

The claim
Elon Musk's Tesla recalls two million cars in US over Autopilot defect.

Verbatim BBC headline (as quoted in the series post)

What the evidence showed

The series post notes the fix was an over-the-air software update β€” no service-centre visit β€” after some drivers were not paying enough attention while using FSD. The headline reading can sound like two million cars needing a workshop repair.

The claim
Tesla deliveries plummet 14% in second quarter

Verbatim BBC headline style (Q2 2025 deliveries story, as cited in the series)

What the evidence showed

The Q2 fall was real and covered in dedicated BBC stories. Q3 then hit a record 497,099 deliveries (Tesla's best quarter ever in the series framing). Reuters, CNN and AP covered the record the same day; the series says the BBC gave it one line five days later inside a shares story β€” four dedicated bad-news stories vs one buried line for the record.

The claim
Tesla's 2.2 million-car recall over warning lights that were "too small" was major news; Ford's 1.45 million-vehicle recall for blank or distorted rear-view cameras got little comparable BBC attention.

Paraphrase of coverage contrast in the series post (not a single verbatim headline)

What the evidence showed

Per the series: Tesla's issue was font size on screen, fixed with an OTA software update on the driveway. Ford's camera recall (NHTSA 25V-695) needed a dealer visit, with a final fix not expected until June 2026. The series asks why one made headlines and the other did not.

The claim
Software-update Tesla recalls are news; millions of Fords heading back to dealers are not.

Figures as stated in the series post (Autoblog 2025 recall rankings + BBC coverage check)

What the evidence showed

The post cites Autoblog's 2025 US recall rankings: Ford 12.9 million vehicles (more than the next nine carmakers combined); Tesla 745k, 9th place. It also states over 91% of Tesla's recalled cars were fixed OTA, while more than 80% of Ford's needed a dealer trip, including nearly 2.9 million for faulty rear-view cameras. The author could not find a BBC story on Ford's big 2025 recalls (most recent BBC "Ford recalls" piece found was from 2019).

The claim
In the April 2023 BBC live interview, hateful content on Twitter was said to have gone up β€” but when Musk asked for one example, none was given.

Paraphrase of the live-interview exchange as described in the series

What the evidence showed

The series recounts Musk saying "You just lied," and states the BBC still runs the same claim without an example. Read the interview piece and the series post side by side.

The claim
"Is this really the end of Twitter?" / platform for the verdict "Twitter is dying."

Verbatim BBC framing as quoted in the series (Nov 2022 / Oct 2023)

What the evidence showed

Four years after the takeover, the series notes X was the number one news app on the US App Store (UK App Store charts link in sources). The post argues the BBC wrote an obituary that the product outlived β€” and has not corrected the record.

The claim
Musk's midterm spending gets a BBC explainer and a podcast; comparable big-money politics from others does not.

Paraphrase of the coverage imbalance described in the series

What the evidence showed

The series cites Bloomberg having put $60m behind House Democrats since September (per the post's sourcing) and states the BBC had not written a word about that figure while covering Musk's midterm money.
