UK public charging reliability — dated notes
Driver surveys and live-status measurements are different things. We cite both and refuse to invent a single “UK reliability %”.
Zapmap driver satisfaction (survey)
Zapmap’s annual EV charging survey (2025 edition: about 3,976 BEV drivers, Sep–Oct 2025) ranks networks on reliability, ease of use, support, value and payment. Tesla Superchargers topped Zapmap’s “Large” network category for a second year in that survey write-up; overall satisfaction with public charging was reported up from 64% to 69% year-on-year in Zapmap’s commentary. These are driver ratings, not metered uptime.

trevl measured out-of-service time (feeds)
trevl publishes a monthly report from operators’ own live status feeds. For October 2026 it reports connectors out of service for 9.8% of observed connector time across 12 networks (25,942 sites / 54,439 connectors in their sample), with a wide network-by-network spread (their table ranges from about 0.5% to 29.0% in that month). Method and caveats are on their site — provisional until their stated finalisation date.

What to do with this
- Prefer apps that show live status; have a second network account on long trips.
- Supercharger map on this site shows locations from OCM data — not live occupancy: map · trip planner.
- Price context: Zapmap Price Index defaults on running costs.
