When buying used in the UK, the Autopilot / AI computer generation matters more than marketing slogans.

  • HW3 (Hardware 3) β€” the older Autopilot computer fitted to many cars roughly through early-2023 production (exact cutover varies by plant and week).
  • HW4 / AI4 β€” newer board and camera suite on recent builds. In-car naming may show as AI4 / Hardware 4 depending on software.
